FOX TALES
by ROBIN
The Fox is one of the animals that appears in Cherokee and Chickasaw tales as well as other Native American cultures. These foxes are frolicking along the spoken words of their stories as the story teller speaks about the parts they play. The very breath of the story teller is represented by the cloud wisps flowing behind the foxes as their stories are told. The background incorporates symbols and forms found in carvings and baskets of the Cherokee people. These forms are also incorporated into the foxes themselves, as they are the keepers of Cherokee stories. The foxes reflect this responsibility in their very form.
